Course Content

Week 1 – Foundations of Business Analysis
Week 1 introduces you to the core foundations of Business Analysis and sets the tone for the rest of the programme. You will learn who a Business Analyst is, where they fit within an organisation and why the BA role is vital to project success. This week also explores what Business Analysis truly means, how customers express their needs, and the essential skills every BA must develop. Learners are introduced to key project frameworks — Waterfall and Agile — and begin to understand how BA responsibilities vary across both. The week concludes with a practical task and group discussion to help you start applying your knowledge immediately.

Week 2 – BA Tasks, Requirements and Key Deliverables
Week 2 expands your understanding of a Business Analyst’s responsibilities throughout the project life cycle. You will learn how BA tasks fit into project plans and begin presenting your own task assignments. The week covers high level requirement gathering, decision tables and the core deliverables expected from BAs. You will also be introduced to Business Requirements Documents, requirement gathering techniques, workshops and the foundations of requirements engineering.

Week 3 – Requirements Engineering and Practical Application
Week 3 focuses on practical, hands-on analysis work. You will engage deeply with requirement engineering processes and begin transforming high level requirements into detailed ones. This week introduces functional and non-functional requirements, user stories, use cases, process flow diagrams, wireframes and mock-ups. You will also complete practical sessions that help you apply these concepts in real project scenarios.

Week 4 – Process Analysis, Documentation and BA Career Skills
Week 4 strengthens your ability to analyse and document processes effectively. You will learn the differences between “As Is” and “To Be” processes and build confidence in developing use cases, data flow diagrams, wireframes and key screens. The week also gives you a structured, step-by-step understanding of the BA job, covering both functional and non-functional requirements. Training concludes with a review session where students consolidate their learning and prepare for the next stage of their BA journey.

Business Analysis tools
This module introduces key BA tools that support real project execution. You will learn Visio for process mapping, Jira Boards for workflow tracking, and the essentials of Sprint Planning and Agile Scrum. It also covers creating an effective Communication Plan to keep stakeholders aligned. These tools prepare you to work confidently in modern project environments.

Job Workshop
This workshop is designed to help you confidently secure your first PMO Analyst role. You will learn what a strong, market-ready CV should look like, where and how to post your CV for maximum visibility, and the key strategies for preparing for interviews. The session provides practical guidance that bridges the gap between training and employment, ensuring you are equipped to step into the job market with clarity and confidence.
